I forgot my ballot, so you guys won't have to see me voting The Favourite and Spider-Man completely down the line

I DEMAND WE START A "BEST QUOTE" CATEGORY JUST TO HONOR VENOM'S "TURD IN THE WIND" LINE!

Enough of these "acclaimed", "good", "worth watching" nominees

I just thought of something. You know how the Academy was talking about shortening the show only to not actually do it because their favorite son Alfonso Cuaron complained? And yet, they could have still shortened it. How? By dropping those pointless featurettes of the Best Picture nominees. Most of the people following the ceremony have already seen the films so why do they need to talk about them when a synopsis is a good enough reminder?

So what am I suggesting? Dropping the featurettes all together. We could save a lot of time by just posting everything in one neat post and letting ourselves save some time.

For me, I like the featurettes. It gives all the participating members of the committee a voice for the award ceremony, and without the featurettes I think it could very quickly devolve into just a series of posts announcing winners of each category. They provide a breather in the ceremony and to be honest, is there really any rush to get through it? It is not like the Oscars which have the issue of being a TV show with its time constraints. And lastly, I think it serves as a nice reminder as to why we liked each nominee too, as some movies may have come out a full 12 months prior and you can often forget what made a film so good in the first place.

Anyway, the awards ceremony will take place in about 24 hours, and yet I am still short quite a number of ballots. So if anyone is able to put there one in as soon as possible I would appreciate it, and this includes those who did not have the chance to put in a nomination in the first place, the more ballots the better.

I can do The Guilty but I haven't seen Cold War so if you wouldn't mind doing that it would be appreciated.

Still waiting on featurettes from John Erle and Ron for Shoplifters and The Favourite respectively, as well as any further ballots from John, Banks, Walleye and Nico. I can either hold off for another hour or so or proceed shortly as is...

Guys, I'm going to delay this a day, it's getting late here and I'm still waiting on quite a few things to finalise the awards. Hope everyone is OK with that.

The new season is awesome, Partridge is perfect for that kind of format, absolutely hilarious. I may take that 30 minute break with you!

Sorry my life got silly busy these past few months - as evidenced by my terrible analysis of movies this past weekend. Anyway, no ballot from me this year. Just didn't see enough of the movies to justify chiming in on the few I did see. But I'll enjoy seeing the awards as always.
