I still need to trim my list by a good 30 songs, and to finish ordering them, and start finding the links and write a bit about them all. But I have started for sure.

I'm pretty much done. Just a bit of fine tuning left. I am sure there's some I've forgotten about though. I've decided to set myself a limit of one song per album otherwise about a quarter of my chart would come from five or so albums. I'm not restricting myself to one per artist though. That's not fair on King Gizz who have released 15 albums in this time period. I am thinking of max of 3 per artist though.

Haven't started yet. I'm going to sit down some night next week or the week after and bang the whole thing out.

I'd say I'm at the if-I-don't-start-soon-I'm-totally-screwed stage.

I'm sending you some firewood. Place it under your ass and light it.

Or, hell, just put your 100 favorite Steve Earle songs in order.

Are we still looking at Feb 1st as the start date? What about the honorable mentions that were mentioned to start a bit earlier?

I'm going to be in Cuba at the time but I should be able to bang out enough to start the countdown before I leave on the 20th.

Yes, we are still looking at 2/1 as the start date. If you could email me your first ten or so picks before then, that would be great.

As for the honorable mentions, I plan to create a thread a week or so prior to then (say, 1/24) that y'all can use to list which ones just barely missed. I have a bunch. JohnErle, if you want to send me that list too, it's cool. Or you can do your honorable mentions after you get back.

The also-rans thread will be less structured, so if you prefer, you can just wait till I create the thread and then post them yourself (all at once).

Okay, I have just completed my music blitz. Twenty years of Alternative, Mainstream, and Rock songs (about four to five thousand songs!). I am now caught up through the present day.

My list is now 113 songs. Next come the final cuts.

I plan to create the "Just Missed" thread... well, no time like the present, I guess.

You have two weeks to get your early lists to me!

Or this could be you...

Just reposting this for myself
Some rules:

1. If the selected song was released as a single, it must have a release date between 1/1/2000 and 12/31/2019.

2. If the selected song was NOT released as a single, it must be on a record/album with a release date after 1/1/2000.

3. Covers and remastered versions of older songs are acceptable if they appear on records/albums with a release date after 1/1/2000.

4. Music from soundtracks or scores of movies released after 1/1/2000 are acceptable UNLESS they are simply unaltered versions of older songs.

Any other thoughts on rules?
