Reel Society Of Film Critics Awards 2017 - The Nominees

Post by silversurfer19 »

The first round of votes are in and we have our nominees for the Reel Society Of Film Critics Awards 2017. Between now and March 10th you have the opportunity to submit your final round of votes that will reveal the winners of the awards on Saturday March 11th. Remember you will now be voting on a sliding scale of 5-1 in order of preference, other that in the Best Picture category which will follow the same format, but be on a scale of 10-1. 10 would be your first choice, and then sliding down to your least favourite. You do not have to award a score to every movie, and you need only award what you feel necessary (ie. you can vote just three movies if you like, with one movie a 10, another an 8 and another a 3). If you have any queries on this please let me know.

I will also use this opportunity to ask the committee to put themselves forward for a featurette on one of the Best Picture nominees. If you would like to do one, and it need be no more than a couple of sentences if that's all you can think of, that will be great.

So without further adue, here are the nominees for the 2017 Reel Society Of Film Critics Awards:

Ooooh. I'm delighted to see 2 Korean film getting so many noms, and both getting in the Best Picture race :D
I would actually be delighted to write for La La Land and see what you Guys write about the Korean films.
So if it:s alright with everyone, I'll write about La La Land.

I've only seen the last 3, and the only one I liked was The Handmaiden, so put me down for that.

I'm glad it made the cut, but I'm very disappointed to the see The Witch shut out of most of the major categories.

I'll take Hell or High Water featurette.

Surprised so many liked Loving so much. No Deadpool is another surprise.
Like all the BP nominees though, and I can't wait to check out The Handmaiden, maybe The Wailing since I tend to not enjoy horror.

Only disappointed that there was zero love for Lion.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Biggest surprise for me is the Patrick Stewart nom for Green Room. It was a terrible performance.

Yeaaaah, I gotta say I was surprised to discover Stewart's nom. It didn't even cross my mind to nominate him, and I love Green Room.

I have to say I haven't seen a single doc nominated, also. None were released in France unfortunately.

Gleason should be on Amazon and 13th should be on Netflix, Chien. Worldwide rights are with those two.

I was surprised O.J.: Made in America wasn't nominated. But then again, it is seven and a half hours.
