A New Year, and a new opportunity for making lists, at least until Trump causes the demise of the planet.
Boosch has a yearly one up on another post, but what are your anticipated releases from now until March
Maybes: Gold, Logan, A Quiet Passion, Detour, Life
Already seen and recommend: I Daniel Blake, The Red Turtle, Land of Mine, Raw
10: The Founder - Reviews have been decent, I'm interested in the origins of MacDonalds, and Keaton. That's 3 reasons to be interested.
9: Staying Vertical - Strangers by the Lake was a very interesting, unique psychological thriller. Curious to see what this is like.
8: Get Out - Forget worthy dramas to win awards, this looks like a much more interesting way to take on race relations in the US
7: Ghost in the Shell - Feel obliged to see this, considering the backlash. I liked the original, but it's flawed, so curious to see if this will deviate much.
6: Dean - Slated for a March release, I've heard good things about this comedy-drama
5: The LEGO Batman Movie - If it's even half as good as The LEGO Movie it's gonna be worth it.
4: Trainspotting 2 - Mostly for nostalgia alone
3: Silence - Cheating a bit, but it gets its wide release in Jan. It's epic Scorsese!
2: The Salesman - The director's last two films have been great, and I bet this drama is going to be nearly, if not just as,powerful
1: Free Fire - I read the script, heard the reviews, seen the trailer, and I know this is going to be a fun shoot-em-up with plenty of shocks.
