Its already being marketed like crazy (Super Bowl, Olympics, trailer in front of Transformers 2), Paramount comes out with one big original (good) summer movie each year and this is the one they are pushing. Plus, its from the producers of The Sixth Sense, Signs, and Unbreakable (and not the other M. Night movies), and they work with Steven Spielberg on most of his movies. And the movie does have a good plot. Plus it has an amazing trailer.

You had the same formulas with Speed Racer and look what happened there. Those guys made the fucking Matrix and still couldn't get anything from Speed Racer.

Well, I don't know about financially, but it sure looks like a good movie.

I think it looks like shit. The series was already pretty bad to begin with (especially since it's nothing more than fake anime with none of the artistry or charm of real anime) so why do a film version of it?
