Re: The ReelSociety Razzies 2010 Award Show!!!
And now for our last Featurette.......Paul Blart: Mall Cop
A "comedy" about a fat security guard coming out in the dregs of winter, on the same weekend as such gems as Mad Money, Kangaroo Jack, Torque and Snow Dogs. Did anybody expect this film to make more than $30M, much less being any good? Well, methinks we were right about that "good" part as it sits at 34% rotten at RT. The fact that it starred the guy not named Adam Sandler from Chuck & Larry and that one chick from Epic Movie AND Date Movie? Just more evidence to support its nomination for Worst Picture. Any movie that plays up a 300lb man running over a teacup dog with a Segway for laughs deserves it.

You got Alyson Hannigan crossed with Jayma Mays. They were in different installments of that series (Hannigan in Date Movie, Mays in Epic Movie).

Oh, well either way Jayma Mays was in a Friedburg/Seltzer movie, which is pretty damn bad.

Train keeps a-moving......Worst Director.
Directing is a pretty tough job, I assume. But for some reason, most of our nominees this year are relatively good directors who have seemed to slip up tremendously. The director of Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Analyze This, and National Lampoon's Vacation. The director of The Rock, Armageddon, Transformers, and Bad Boys. The director of Daddy Day Care and the remake of Short Circuit (?!). The director of episodes of Extra and The Office. The director of Donnie Darko and Southland Tales (well, you can't win em all). They have all done us a huge disservice with their entries to their resumes in the last year. And they shall be punished. Well, at least one of them will.
And the nominees are......
Harold Ramis - Year One
Steve Carr - Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Richard Kelly - The Box
Michael Bay - Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen
Ricky Gervais/Matthew Robinson - The Invention of Lying

(Will Year One and Paul Blart finally get a "win"? Will The Invention of Lying and The Box "win" in the only catergory they're nominated for? Or will Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen continue it's dominance?)
Hmmm....

Ha. They all do look like decent directors, except for dude who did Daddy Day Care. I could almost feel you cringe having to type that one out...

I actually thought The Invention Of Lying was hilarious. My only problem with it was Tina Fey (I seriously can't see her appeal).
And Scarlett Johansson looks miscast as Black Widow. But then again, she always looks miscast (must be Woody Allen always being attached to her). Also, I was kind of hoping that War Machine would be a villain.

Iron Man 2 does look sick! Is Scarlett a good or bad guy in that?

Re: The ReelSociety Razzies 2010 Award Show!!!
For our LAST catergory.......Worst Picture!
Ok, so we've reached the end of our little two-part Razzie award show. We've had quite a few of repeat losers: Transformers 2 has "won" 4 of the 9 nominations it's had so far, while Paranormal Activity has swept the acting catergories. Do we have a two-horse race here, just like the Oscars? Or can Paul Blart, Miss March, or Next Day Air come out of left field to pull of the upset? Well, whoever wins, we can all rejoice in the fact that all five of these films are truly, downright dreadful and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.
And the nominees are....
Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen
Miss March
Paranormal Activity
Next Day Air
