Sooooo, I'm the only one who didn't go for Wonder Woman !! I went all Guardians plus 2 Captain Underpants, we'll see how that goes.

I kept switching between the two. I think Guardians will get the bonus, but wasn't sure if a bunch of Cptn Underpants would beat Wonder Woman. Early estimates are showing it's close.

I was thinking it could hit $30 million for the weekend (the B+ Cinemascore might have hurt it). Which is too bad as it's one of DreamWorks' better films (and one that could be their most profitable).

I knew I should have retired from this game after the previous season, at the top of my game. What a bad start.

Anyone else gambling on All Eyez on Me this weekend? Sure, it won't beat Cars 3 or Wonder Woman but I feel it's a better value and I see it playing a lot better this weekend than Rough Night (which simply looks loud, obnoxious, and derivative of other movies).

Not at the moment, but that could change once the Thursday preview numbers come out.

Is an all Baby Driver slate a good idea this week? On one hand, reviews have been universally positive and Sony's marketed it out the ass. On the other hand, it's an R-rated film from a cult director opening on a Wednesday.

Good question. It seems tempting, I'll wait a few more days to decide.

According to Friday estimates, we will have a five-way tie for first (and all with the perfect lineup). However, it looks like I have the tiebreaker.

We'll have to wait a bit for the actuals due to the holiday. But luckily, the new round is open for business.

Though Spider-Man's getting the attention (I recommend the Friday option, I don't see this one playing as well as other MCU titles), I'd recommend taking The Big Sick if you can. This weekend's PTA of over $23,000 in just 71 theatres (it's already grossed over $2 million and it hasn't even gone wide yet) suggests a really good take in its expansion to semi-wide release (I believe July 14th is still the official wide date). I can see it taking in at least $10,000 per theatre against Marvel's Peter Pan.

Now I wonder if people will finally stop confusing Kumail Nanjiani with the guy from The Big Bang Theory.

BoxOfficeChamps has a new format. They're breaking it down into three months. Top 10 instead of 15 with three alternates and rewards for getting the placement right. If a film is listed in your top 10 and it is in the top ten at the end of the season, you get the box office gross. If not, it is $0. If one of your alternates is in the top ten, you get half the gross.

For placement, you get $50 M for an exact match, $25 M for one spot off, and $5 M for two spots off. So the order seriously matters. The tenth place film for these three months may not even make $50 M. The upcoming season is August-October (remember, if it's released the last weekend of October, you only get one weekend of gross and so on).

My picks were:
1. Kingsman
2. It
3. Ninjago
4. Blade Runner (4 weeks)
5. Dark Tower
6. Hitman's Bodyguard
7. Annabelle
8. American Made
9. Logan Lucky
10. Dunkirk

Alternates: Detroit, My Little Pony, American Assassin

I'll probably throw Madea somewhere between 8 and the alternates and depending on what Dunkirk does this weekend it may move.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.
