On the matter of Citizenfour Six, I totally agree. I've seen the film last week and it's an important film, too bad it wasn't seen early enough.

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards Ceremony 2015
I have Citizenfour on my planner to watch, will certainly do so in the next few days as it looks fascinating.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in the awards once again. I know it's a fairly big endeavour that requires a bit of effort on the behalf of the committee, and I apologise for hounding you all to get your votes in. However, in doing so I think it made for another very good ceremony. So whether you could only take part in the initital Master List, Nominations, Ballots or even just the Award Ceremony itself, I appreciate everyone taking part. It's one of the things I look forward to most on the Reel Society calendar along with the FY Drafts and obviously the Super Leagues themselves, and it's been another enjoyable experience on my behalf. I was surprised with a couple of the winners, others were wholeheartedly expected and deserved, but it all made for a very rewarding awards. Let's hope this next year can be just as fascinating, with dozens of movies that stimulate and inspire.

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards Ceremony 2015
I pick the worst weekend (or right?) to miss this every year, i will endeavor to be part of the commentating next year. Quick words on the winners-
Best Breakthrough Performance: David Oyelowo, Selma
I totally understand this, and i think in years from now, we will probably agree. One of my favourite categories.
Best Original Screenplay: The Grand Budapest Hotel
I saw tGBH in cinema with very little others, and really enjoyed it, while not calling it a masterpiece. When i watched it the 2nd time at home, the gloss faded off, i still wonder if this was mood, size of screen, knowing the story, or what else it was
Best Adapted Screenplay: Whiplash
Didnt vote it No.1, but dont disagree with the winner. My little brother, who only watched stuff based on top reviews, fav actors or worst: imdb rating, he really liked this, me too.
Best Actor In A Supporting Role: JK Simmons, Whiplash
Agreed, but i thought Josh Brolin was a slight bit better
Best Actress In A Supporting Role: Patricia Arquette, Boyhood
Kudos to Arquette, career may well rise further
Best Animated Feature: The Lego Movie
What else was there? Academy snubbed this bigtime
Best Documentary Feature: Life Itself
Still yet to see this! Excited though
Best Cinematography: The Grand Budapest Hotel
Thought Birdman had this one in the bag, i'd like to see a breakdown of votes.
Best Visual Effects: Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
Deserved
Best Score: Under The Skin
The 2nd of the winners i missed.
Best Foreign Language Picture: Force Majeure
The 3rd
Best Cast: Birdman
Disagree. Emma Stone was miscast, Naomi Watts was forgettable, while the upside- Norton, Keaton and even Galifinikas were actually very good
Best Actress In A Leading Role: Felicity Jones, The Theory Of Everything
For me, twas a very meh category, but im happy she won after all.
Best Actor In A Leading Role: David Oyelowo, Selma
Gotta be a tough one, but it was a great performance. Certain scenes were extraordinary
Best Director: Richard Linklater, Boyhood
Well deserved, and i think the only winner i agreed with with 5 votes
Best Picture: Whiplash
A surprise, but it was a good movie. 1 thing i didnt like about the movie- the car crash scene.
Also, big thanks to surfer for running this, it just adds more good stuff to these forums, very cool.
PS- I know its not been a very long time since the last top 100 countdown, but can we do another in about 8 years? Im sure not only my, but many others taste have changed by then, and also, to reflect on the newer films that break into the top. Too soon? As long as we get another one going while we are all here.

Re: The Reel Society of Film Critics Awards Ceremony 2015
This is the first chance I've had to pop in and thank Surfer for putting all this together once again. I was browsing on my phone as the awards were revealed, but logging in here is unwieldy without a desktop, so I wasn't able to participate in the commentary.
As I said earlier, there were no bad movies nominated this year among the ones I've seen -- I still haven't watched Snowpiercer or Interstellar -- so I don't have much to complain about. The wrong movie won Best Picture, but the right movie was only one vote behind, so that's some consolation, and I assume Wes Anderson wasn't far behind Linklater for Best Director as well.
And for what it's worth, I thought Surfer's janitor pic was very funny, and Six's perfectly timed and unexpected Harry Potter reference was the highlight of the night.

Wow there some definite surprises at this year's awards, but that what makes it great. So congrats to all the winners, and a huge thank you to surfer for putting all this work in to delivering another excellent award show.

I'm not sure if this will work, but here's a link to the google drive file I used to send my initial votes to surfer, in case anyone's interested.

In case it doesn't work for everyone, it's just The Grand Budapest Hotel written in 5 times for every category

They weren't speaking Canadian, so that's how I justified nominating it for Best Foreign Language Film.

Well this was a pleasant surprise to come back out after having no internet or cable for 5 days. Outright shocked and very happy to see Whiplash, David Oyelowo win and Boyhood/Birdman only take 3 awards combined. Thank you surfer for once again hosting this. Sorry I had to miss all the fun.
