MOST ANTICIPATED FILMS OF 2014 (SEPT-DEC)
Well, the summer is over and we're about to enter Awards Season, so let's see what we're interested in watching.
Maybes: Fury, Gone Girl, The Theory of Everything, Nightcrawler, Big Eyes
10: Unbroken - Still a major contender for Best Film, so I'm still interested
9: The Imitation Game - A decent trailer, decent reviews, and interesting subject matter is piquing my curiosity.
8: Birdman - An intriguing trailer and great reviews, plus good to see Keaton back on screen.
7: The Guest - An excellent trailer.
6: The Drop - The director's previous film was interesting, and the cast is strong.
5: Mr Turner - Mike Leigh is one of the UK's greatest directors, and I have to see how he followed up the superb Another Year.
4: 20000 Days on Earth - Nick Cave in an arthouse mockumentary sounds just about right for me.
3: Inherent Vice - PTA does Pynchon? Sold!
2: Interstellar - Let's hope this is the Nolans' return to form after the awful Batman sequel.
1: Whiplash - Amazing trailer and great word from Sundance makes this is a must-see

Re: MOST ANTICIPATED FILMS OF 2014 (SEPT-DEC)
Eh, might as well do a serious one.
My Old Lady (9/10)
The Guest (9/17)
Tusk (9/19)
The Boxtrolls (9/26)
St. Vincent (10/10)
Dear White People (10/17)
Listen Up Phillip (10/17)
Nightcrawler (10/31)
Interstellar (11/7)
Rosewater (11/7)
The Theory of Everything (11/7)
Dumb and Dumber To (11/14)
Foxcatcher (11/14)
Inherent Vice (12/12)
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (12/17)
Big Eyes (12/25)
Selma (12/25)
Meanwhile, I'm wondering when the hell Drafthouse will release Electric Boogaloo. It had its premiere in Melbourne last month (and will also screen at Toronto and London) but the distributor has been tight-lipped about it. It would be a good time to release it this year due to it being 30 years since Cannon's first #1 hit (Breakin') and a number of Cannon titles hitting Blu-ray recently.

10 movies I will absolutely see in theaters:
The Drop
Gone Girl
Whiplash
Birdman
Interstellar
Nightcrawler
Men, Women, & Children
Hunger Games: Mockingjay
Foxcatcher
Horrible Bosses 2
Funny enough, nothing in December is jumping out at me. All the limiteds will open in January anyway.

Re: MOST ANTICIPATED FILMS OF 2014 (SEPT-DEC)
I'm like Boosch, Not Mockinjay
Here's my most anticipated films of the season...
Just missed the Top 10 : Fury, White Bird in a Blizzard, Horns, Tusk, Exodus, The Hobbit 3, Mr Turner, The Guest, Dear White People
10. Nightcrawler : His two collaborations with Villeneuve made me very curious about Jake Gyllenhaal's career. The trailer was good.
9. The disappearance of Eleonor Rigby : I don't know which version will get released in France, but any will do.
8. Foxcatcher : Good director, good word of mouth, good reviews, interesting cast, what's not to wait about it ?
7. The Interview : a crazy pitch for crazy actors, I'm laughing already.
6. A Most Violent Year : JC Chandor is one of the best directing newcomers of the last couple of years. I can't wait to see what he's doing for his third film.
5. American Sniper : Well you all know I'm an Eastwood fan. We haven't seen anything, but I'll rush to it, I already know.
4. Birdman : I've been waiting for a Keaton comeback for years. And a Norton one, too.
3. Inherent Vice : Paul Thomas Anderson + Joaquin Phoenix. Enough for me.
2. Gone Girl : The cast is so intriguing that I'm extremely curious to see what gets out of it. AND it's a crime film by Fincher.
1. Interstellar : A highly ambitious story by the highly ambitious and reliable Nolan. If I could buy my ticket right now I would.
