Apparently because Disney want to release an Alice in Wonderland 3 months after its release (so late July), a lot of cinemas are threatening not to screen it in protest. This is in light of the threat of studios narrowing the window between theatrical and DVD release, and cinemas are fearing they'll lose a lot of money at the back-end (imagine if Avatar came out in late Feb/early March). Anyway, unless something is agreed this may have an impact on Alice's BO performance.
Apparently cinemas in The Netherlands are planning to boycott the film entirely, and there's plans to do the same in the UK. Not sure what'll happen in the US though.

Re: Negative Publicity for Alice in Wonderland
It would probably have been heading for about 4000 theaters anyway, so even if it loses theaters it still should have a big theater count. Plus its such a big movie that I can't see major chains not showing it at all.
Re: Negative Publicity for Alice in Wonderland
The same is happening in Italy.
Re: Negative Publicity for Alice in Wonderland
AMC still hasn't picked it up. Disney needs to reach a deal fast.
