But there's no activity anymore, W and Six. It's just the regulars. It's been getting monotonous and it (along with a lot of other factors) has made me belligerent. Do you know how many times in the past year that I've considered leaving the site altogether? Just this week, I left the pricing board.

Maybe I should take some time off. I know no one ever forgive me but I know things would be better with everyone agreeing all the time.

Along the years, there's always been times when the forums have calmed down and seemed a bit slow. The fact some of us have gone, and some particpate less, is obvious, but calling it quits ? It's just like you deleting the thread because you were angry, it's just what you want.
Yes, activity has been slow, but I don't see it as a reason to stop something we've been living for the past, what, seven years almost now. If you want to take a step back, it's your possibility. I have a few year ago, and i've come back. You're not chained here. Everyone's free to come and go, but just stopping everything would be silly.

The regulars are active. That's activity, surely? The goal should be trying to expand.

If you think taking time off will help you, then go right ahead. I think you do need to find out a way to agree to disagree with people without resorting to name calling. I think it's important to accept others opinions even if they differ from yours. Or if disagreeing, take the high ground (but not too high) and not the low one. And we'd of course be happy to see you return.

And I would say there is plenty of disparate feelings going on still. There's certainly plenty of us who don't agree - just look at the varying opinions on The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit.

Thanks for the helpful words.

By the way, I'm sure that Surfer has a second copy of the nominees and segments. So even if I deleted four pages out of anger, I'm sure that the show will go on.

I'm not going to deny I was more than disappointed to see the Nomination thread deleted, but I really don't have the energy or inclination to flare up an argument. So I'll just post the nominees here again so that those who have not submitted their final ballots (and there are still plenty) can view the nominees.

As I said in the previous thread, you all have less than three days to submit your votes, for which you can submit a descending score of 5-1 for each nominee (10-1 in Best Picture). I am open for discussion the time and date of the Awards, but as of this moment intend to host it at 11pm GMT on Saturday night. If anyone can think of a more suitable time I'm willing to move it.

I sent mine in already. Really like this weighted/points system. It allowed me to really focus on films I feel deserve the awards and give nothing to films I've seen but didn't like.

I'm honestly stunned by this. Dude, if you don't like it here, walk away. Don't use the power that we have entrusted in you to ruin a good thing that we have going on. No one forces you to come here and read these discussions multiple times a day. You do it on your own accord. There is no reason for behavior like this. Seriously, is this how you think life works? You are in for such a rude awakening, I promise you.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude

If everyone committed to making the jump over to the GeekScape forums, I think it'd be an interesting dynamic. My buddy owns the place.

In fact, I could ask for our own sub-board starting out for the game(s) and general discussion. From there, the migration would be easier on us. And in inevitable integration would happen more organically.

But it's called Geekspace. And there's a column called This Geek in Netflix.

I don't want to tarnish my tough-guy reputation that I've steadily built on these forums.

Stripping him of his moderator status and banning him for a month seems like the next logical step. Surely whoever who set this forum up can do that? If not there's always FB.

What's clear is that if Buscemi can't control his behaviour, we need a place where we can control him. He claims this forum is dying? Well, why would anyone want to join a forum where people are allowed to behave the way he does. Being here is not doing him or anyone else any good.

I'm not someone who advocates banning, it's really a last resort, I think if he feels he needs the time away he should have the willpower to do so himself without being physically forced. Regarding who is able to do it anyway, I'm not sure but I think Barca may be the only person with the power to do so, and he hasn't been online since last July...
