The Del Toro set ended up being $36 w/ the member discount a 20% off one item things they send in the mail. Same deal on the Wallace Shawn/Andre Gregory set. $77 for both w/tax.

Also found a 3 disc Pinocchio for $15 at a resale shop.

Haven't been too big on the Criterion sale but today, I found a Japanese copy of Equilibrium for $7.99 (which ended up being even cheaper as I was signed up for their newsletter and given the weekend sale discount) at Half Price Books. This is the only Blu-ray release with the film in its original 2.39 aspect ratio (I already had the US open matte release).

I also found an early paperback printing of A Confederacy of Dunces for $2 before discount.

Edit: managed to pick up another Criterion in the Barnes and Noble sale. I got Don't Look Now for $17.99 after membership discount. I also found the exclusive Violet Beauregarde Pop vinyl and got her for $13.49 (she's worth $25 on Pop Price Guide).

Just when you thought the Criterion sale was the best thing this month, Screen Archives managed to top it. Every in stock Twilight Time title released before June is on sale in three tiers: 2011-2013 releases are 75% off, 2014-2015 releases are 50%, and releases from the first six months of this year are 25% off.

The sale started one hour sooner than scheduled and I picked up:

Bonjour Tristesse $7.95
The Other $7.95
Sexy Beast $7.95
The Sound and the Fury $4.95

I have to also pay $9 in shipping but I didn't mind as each title comes to under $10 after that.

Sale runs until December 6th.

Yeah, I was waiting until 4 today when it started. I ordered ten of them. Most of those ones you ordered I got on the 7 for $70 sale they did and I didn't think the prices would get better.

Ended up with

$14.95
Devil in a Blue Dress
Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation
Strange Invaders
Zardoz
Zulu

$8.95
Major Dundee

$7.95
Drums Along the Mohawk
In Like Flint
Jane Eyre
Oliver!

I wanted a couple more, but they were $22.95 (Rollerball specifically).

I'll probably get Rapture if they still have it later in the week. And maybe The Only Game in Town (a Warren Beatty movie in time for his new one) and Jane Eyre (probably my favorite adaptation of the novel).

I found this at a shop for $15 w/ slip: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Fullmetal ... ray/42904/

I don't care about anime at all, but I figure this is excellent trade bait or I can just get $100+ out of it if I can't find any takers.

Cyber Monday (and the week in general) has been rather disappointing outside of the great deal on Glengarry Glen Ross. I did pick up the November Disney Movie Club bundle of Finding Dory, Finding Nemo, and Zootopia for $46.95 just now (and I also got a lithograph of Dory and Hank for free) though. I'd been meaning to get Finding Nemo and this seemed like the right time to do so.

It looks like this month's featured title will be The BFG. I'd get it if the bundle title was Bridge of Spies but it will most likely be Pete's Dragon so I'll probably wait until The BFG drops in price to get it.

I bought way too many Twilight Time titles the past few months. I'm coming to the conclusion that I need to pare down my collection considerably. I think in the next couple weeks I'll be getting rid of some stuff.

A bunch of Criterions have been popping up in my area, always the same ones. They really don't have a place that sells Criterions unless you go an hour or so east so I don't know where they could be coming from. I bought Cat People yesterday for about $12 at a used shop. They normally have a B5G1 and they had a 20% off sale, but said I had to "choose one promo". Most of the prices were jacked up or I'd have bought more. Then today at lunch I went to the pawn shop by my work and for $40 out the door got:

(another) Cat People
Dr. Strangelove
MaCabe & Mrs Miller
The Devil's Backbone
Pan's Labyrinth

and a DVD of Modern Times.

Out of those six I only needed Dr. Strangelove and MaCabe and Mrs. Miller since I bought the Del Toro set a few weeks ago, so I guess I'm trading the others. I couldn't pass up the opportunity for $7-8 Criterions tax included.

W, is that Pan's Labyrinth the blu-ray? If you still have it, I'll buy it off you.
