I also finally pulled the trigger and bought Let The Right One In Blu-Ray from Amazon UK.

And it was only $16.

I'd love to see Criterion do Let The Right One In and maybe include the commentary from the Swedish release (with subtitles, of course).

Meanwhile, I don't think the remake will be that bad. Sure the choice of director is bad (I would have preferred someone like Brad Anderson at the helm) but it's got a decent cast and I like the concept of setting the remake in the 1980's. And Hammer (the production company that's co-financing) had some good points about remaking it and has claimed they will keep it accurate with the original. Also, not very many people saw the original (the domestic gross was only $3 million with a quarter of that made in a single theatre) so I'd feel a remake is welcome.

Does it have the theatrical subtitles. It will say English (Theatrical) if it does. They started them with new subtitles that were more direct translation as opposed to transliteration, which sucked pretty badly. Then they put the others back in as well, after people complained. I've been looking at the blu's and have yet to find one with theatrical.

Recent purchases from Blockbuster (all $2.99)

Roman de Gare
The Savages
Death Defying Acts
Nim's Island
The Flock

I also bought The Hammer but I will return it since it doesn't have all of the regular DVD's extras (some making-of material was dropped from the Blockbuster release, so be cautious of the Blockbuster Exclusive label).

Ah shit, I didn't check. I'd read online that the US ones were the only ones without the Theatrical Subtitles.

But, to me, it's not a huge deal since I saw it first on DVD and still loved it, hacked up subtitles and all.

I also got The Boondock Saints on Blu from Target for $13. Ironically, the DVD version was $16. Same special features and everything.

Recent purchases:

Exchanged The Hammer at Blockbuster and picked up Stephanie Daley.

And at the closing Movie Gallery (last day is Thursday, everything was $1.99 each):

Death Race
Special (a superhero comedy with Michael Rappaport)
Il Divo
The Maiden Heist
Sunshine Cleaning
The Informers
Snakes On A Plane
Nothing Like The Holidays
Choke
Battle For Terra
Management
Whatever Works

Amazingly enough, most of these titles were originally priced at $12.99 or $14.99 each.

There are a fair amount of stores closing here but there are probably worse. Besides, everyone around here buys or uses Netflix (you should see when Entertainmart has a sale, it's a madhouse).

I picked up the Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Blu rays for pretty cheap.

My mom got some more of her Disney coupons and I got em both for $17 total.

Pretty sweet.

K-Mart's doing a deal with the Toy Story movies, however it's $50 for both of them.

I'm getting rid of some of my many DVDs that I don't want anymore (well I don't think I ever wanted them).

I doubt any of you guys will want them, especially if I don't want em. But I figured I'd post a list just in case. I'm gonna sell these for $3 a piece.

Ocean's Eleven (2001) (FS) (snapper case)
3 Ninjas Knuckle Up (FS) (never watched)
13 Going On 30 (SE) (never watched)
The Aristocrats
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
Blind Date Uncensored (I don't know where the hell I got this from)
Boogeyman (SE) (never watched)
Life Or Something Like It
Land of The Dead (Unrated Director's Cut) (never watched)
The Italian Job
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey version)
Happy Gilmore (SE)
House on Haunted Hill (2000) (snapper case)
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (FS)
The Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift (bought used, never watched)
Employee of the Month (Dane Cook version)
The Descent (Unrated) (bought used, never watched) (w/slipcover)
Cry_Wolf (Unrated) (FS)
Van Helsing (FS) (never watched)
Stealth (2 Disc SE) (FS) (never watched)
Soul Plane (Unrated) (I think this is scratched though)
Sin City (w/ Brittany Murphy slipcover)
Scoop (never watched)
The Omen (2006) (never watched)
The Punisher (never watched)
Rent (2 disc SE) (FS)
Night of The Living Dead (1968) (never watched)
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (never watched)
Saw 2 (w/slipcover) (never watched)
X-Men 1.5 (2 disc)
Scary Movie 4 (Unrated) (w/slipcover) (never watched)
Saw 5 (Unrated)
Miami Vice (2006) (Unrated) (never watched)
Dead Silence (Unrated) (never watched)
The Fighting Temptations (never watched)

And I'll probably sell this for $20:

Cloverfield steelbook (unopened)
Alexandra Daddario: Eyes of a Demon, Face of My Future Ex-Wife
