I guess those awards are a pretty fair reflection of my own personal views on last years movies. My bottom three movies were Transformers 2, Year One and Paranormal Activity, and all came away with a handful of prizes.

So why was The Last Airbender commercial shown during the awards show as a potential candidate for next year? You might as well have posted the trailer for Toy Story 3.

While I am looking forward to Airbender personally, I don't think many would place the newest M. Night film (after the last few especially) in the same realm as the newest Toy Story. You're totally stretching on that one.

All I know is, I think Furry Vengeance is definitely in the running not only for worst film next year, but of all time. I might have to see it simply to witness such an atrocity. Watching the trailer, I continuously found myself thinking "this can't possibly get any worse.... and then it did.... like 4 or 5 times this happened. Its going to be all time bad.

1. It was written, produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
2. Can you think of any live-action or Americanized adaptations of anime that have worked?
3. If this kid is supposed to be an all-powerful god, then how come I keep thinking of Samm Levine with a shaved head when I see him onscreen?

I think Last Airbender looks badass, especially for an adaptation of a kid's cartoon.

But yeah, the fact that Shymalan's name is all over the promotion bugs me.

I'm with Boosch on this one. Regardless of my opinions of Shamalamadingdong, I don't see Airbender breaking out. It has no star appeal ("that dude from Slumdog" doesn't count), it's an adaption of an anime which never bodes well, and there's too much else happing at that time for it to bloom. I'd say it'll make it to $60mil at best.
