Yeah, it's got The Town and Devil on opening weekend (when you pit a teen-oriented horror/action film against a teen-oriented comedy, the horror/action film seems to usually win out), You Again (Easy A with bigger names and more appeal) and the limited opening of The Virginity Hit the next week and the week after that The Social Network and Let Me In.

Also, Easy A seems to be getting the least amount of marketing of the new movies. The Town had a trailer before Inception and several ads on the men's networks, Devil's trailer seems to be showing up before everything and even Alpha and Omega has had a trailer before every 3-D kids' movie. Meanwhile, I've only seen a few online ads for Easy A and maybe some online hype (mostly among Superbad and Zombieland fans who probably didn't even care that Emma Stone appeared until being told so). Hell, Sony's The Virginity Hit has way more online hype than Easy A (when I saw ads for both trailers side by side, The Virginity Hit had almost four times as many hits as Easy A (1.9 million for The Virginity Hit compared to 500,000 for Easy A).

The reissue of Eclipse bombed with only $745,000 but then again, a lot of theatres played it for discounted prices. Here it played at two theatres, a second run theatre that charges $3 (with $1 Tuesdays) and a first-run doing a promotion where all shows were $1.
