Really, Takers and Armored aren't that much alike. Just on the surface, they seem to be the same movie, but you'd have to watch both to see how they differ.

I saw Nanny McPhee Returns today and it had a big crowd (mainly due to a birthday party being booked to watch that movie). Expect a Saturday increase on that one.

Meanwhile, Avatar had their biggest auditorium (probably because of its run time though).

Weekend Estimates:

It was REALLY close.

Top 5:
5 points - The Last Exorcism, $21.3M
4 points - Takers, $21M
3 points - The Expendables, $9.5M
2 points - Eat Pray Love, $7M
1 point - The Other Guys, $6.6M

The Other Guys is now at $99M, which means it's a shoe-in for blockbuster status in the next few days.
The Expendables is now at $82M. $100M is still a possibility.
Vampires Suck is now at $27M, which for Friedberg/Seltzer means a stellar hit, so we can probably look forward to at least three more of the worst films ever created from them.

PTA:
5 points - Takers
4 points - The Last Exorcism
3 points - The Tillman Story
2 points - Animal Kingdom
1 point - Get Low

No word yet on Centurion.

User Ratings:

Takers - 4.9
The Last Exorcism - 6.4
Centurion - 6.5

I am glad I took Takers on a couple of slates. I knew it would do pretty well. The Last Exorcisim opened pretty well but is going to drop like a rock. The word of mouth is horrible. On a side note a couple of my friends went and saw it and said it was easily the worst movie they have seen all year and the theater was about 80% full when it started and by the end it was less than half full.

Yeah, the CinemaScore for Last Exorcism was a D, which is the lowest I've ever heard of...

I don't see either movie holding well though. Expect a 1-2-3 finish for the new movies this week (The American, Going The Distance, Machete).

However, the IMDb rating isn't very good.
