My "I don't understand American audiences" rant is Knives Out's success. Between this and Murder on the Orient Express, the whodunit sub-genre just seems to be excuses to make the easily persuaded feel smart with their "treat the audience as if they are idiots" premises.
Also, Rian Johnson is no different from someone such as Doug Liman. We need to stop acting like he's a brilliant auteur.
