Re: Walleye's Weekly Winners - 11/22
I wonder if it would be wrong to say that the whole Nicecore trend of movies is officially dead. A lot of these movies were either flops domestically (Paddington 2) or weren't very mainstream (Won't You Be My Neighbor?). The Oscar favorites right now are all very dark and/or downbeat films (even if Pete Hammond tries to convince to you that Ford v. Ferrari is the film to beat, I must wonder how much Disney is paying him to say that) and it's as if audiences are actively avoiding these films because of the tag (though I also feel that Paddington 2 would have done better had Warner Bros. delayed the film and had the Weinstein marketing pulled).
The end result seems to be that audiences don't actually want to feel good. They just want to be on the right side of things.

It's like what Lenin said...I am the walrus.

I didn't realise Frozen II end in Elsa being brutally murdered.

The reason The Upside hit $100 mil in the States was because Kevin Hart's character decides to flip off and excessively slander Bryan Cranston when he tries to reconcile with him at the end of the movie.numbersix wrote:I didn't realise Frozen II end in Elsa being brutally murdered.

I was more suprised when Toy Story 4 ended in a Tarantino-esque bloodbath with Andy coming back to mutilate his toys after they abandoned him.transformers2 wrote:The reason The Upside hit $100 mil in the States was because Kevin Hart's character decides to flip off and excessively slander Bryan Cranston when he tries to reconcile with him at the end of the movie.numbersix wrote:I didn't realise Frozen II end in Elsa being brutally murdered.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.
