You forgot to mention that Despicable Me 3 now holds the record for the widest release of all-time, passing the recently thought unbreakable record of Eclipse by 61 theatres.

How it got there? I'm guessing a lot of small town theatres and drive-ins, a lot of the same sources that allowed Cars 3 to have the widest G-rated release ever two weeks ago (Cars 3 sheds over 600 theatres this week, nearly all of those likely getting Despicable Me 3), got it. A few 35mm prints could be in there too (Illumination is one of the few companies still commissioning 35mm prints for their movies, Warner Bros. and Paramount have also had 35mm titles this year distributed for exhibition to the few remaining digital holdouts).

Great little monologue six, I can't agree more.

So sad about UDMs sequelamerica. And I think with Baby Drivers promising numbers, the wheel is about to turn for Original America. Might end up taking a couple years, though, that is when I plan a comeback anyways...

Seriously, what a downer year so far. Spidey and Dunkirk can't come soon enough.

And dang - the House killed me!

I know the July 7th column isn't out yet but I've found via FilmJerk that Superpowerless has been pushed to an undetermined date in October. Though I'm sure that no one picked it in anything.

Someone has it in one of the quarterly leagues.

Just went to Filmjerk... can't find any mention of Santoalla either. Went to Oscilloscope Pictures' website, saw listings for one screening in mid-July and one in late July. Hmmm....

If it wasn't so last-minute I'd replace both of them with other films, but that wouldn't really be fair.
