I'll take the 12th. With Paddington 2 likely getting pushed, it should be an easy weekend for me to write about.

January's usually a wasteland when you filter out the December Oscar bait, but I find I'm intrigued by The Commuter. I'm interested to hear what you think. Why is Paddington 2 going to be pushed?

As I said on its trailer thread, it looks Non-Stop on a train. I'll see it anyway since Collet-Serra tends to be more hit than miss.

Meanwhile, I read that Studiocanal and Heyday Films (David Heyman's company) were seeking to seize Paddington 2 away from The Weinstein Company due to all that's gone on lately. If another company picked it up (my best guesses are Lionsgate and Warner Bros.), the earliest we'd see it in the States would be late spring/early summer.

Alright gentlemen, I'm off to Marseilles in a few hours which means I should be dropping a column next week from Chien's home country. If it doesn't work for some reason, I blame him! Or the wine, I could also blame the wine :)

I might as well make this announcement here.

On 12/26, I am going to be leaving the country to visit my wife's family in the Philippines, and I won't be home until 1/5. I may have the time to do the updates while I'm there, I might not. However, it's more likely that I won't be able to post the Super League results until I get back.

In the meantime, I have posted the March films on the first page, so feel free to volunteer.

PLEASE: someone take 2/23!

I'll take 2/23 and I'll do 3/16 as well. Got to be one good movie out of all of those.
