Wow, Paper Towns can't even break $20M? I knew it was hotly anticipated, but that's awful.

Pixels is looking right around $25M with Saturday estimates coming in, which is equally awful for Sony and Sandler. The fact that this big effects-driven summer tentpole, with the added help of video game nostalgia, might not even outgross Jack And Jill is offensive. I mean, I knew it was bad but usually that wouldn't matter until the 2nd weekend. Adam Sandler might be soon only found on Netflix...

Southpaw is defying expectations with close to $17M this weekend. I'd never guess it'd beat Paper Towns.
