Don't forget about Deliver Us From Evil...I think it may be a sleeper. I actually think it will beat Tammy that weekend.with Tammy being the only release

I don't see Deliver Us From Evil opening to more than $20M, while Tammy should get around $35M.

Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 6/27
I believe it will open similar to The Purge (34M)...I also think Tammy is going to flop. I don't think McCarthy can carry a movie on her own. And the movie looks dumb, even for a dumb comedy.
Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 6/27
Transformers: Age Of Extinction now has 16% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Clearly I wasn't expecting that to happen since the film is the start of a new trilogy.

Who's Bad News Barrett and is he somehow related to Bad News Brown?
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.
Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 6/27
He's a wrestler currently working for the WWE. His wrestling name before was Wade Barrett before going into the Bad News Barrett Gimmick in late 2013.W wrote:Who's Bad News Barrett and is he somehow related to Bad News Brown?

Not a fan of McCarthy, I hope Tammy sinks like a ton of bricks. Didn't watch identity thief or the heat, zero interest. Bridesmaids was ok, but not because of her.
And not so sure about DUFE, but I have feeling it could break out as we haven't seen a horror in a while

Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 6/27
Friday Estimates:
Transformers: Age of Extinction, $41.6M
22 Jump Street, $5M
How to Train Your Dragon 2, $4.1M
Think Like a Man Too, $3.4M
Maleficent, $2.6M
Jersey Boys, $2.2M
The Fault in Our Stars, $1.8M
Edge of Tomorrow, $1.6M
Weekend Projections
Transformers: Age of Extinction, $102M
22 Jump Street, $15.5M (-44%)
How to Train Your Dragon 2, $13.5M (-45%)
Think Like a Man Too, $10.8M (-63%)
Maleficent, $8.4M (-35%)
Jersey Boys, $7.4M
Edge of Tomorrow, $5.2M
The Fault in Our Stars, $5.1M
X-Men: Days of Future Past, $3.2M
So Transformers cracks nine digits after all the crap we've heard? I'll wait until the final numbers come out before I gasp in surprise.
And bad WOM is going to kill its second weekend. I'd be surprised if next weekend it made more than $45M (and only that high because of the holiday).

Begin Again is beating Snowpiercer in terms of Friday PTA. Considering I'm rarely right about anything, i should use this opportunity to enjoy myself!

But both of them are expanding pretty aggressively next week, so I think they're both out of PTA points.numbersix wrote:Begin Again is beating Snowpiercer in terms of Friday PTA. Considering I'm rarely right about anything, i should use this opportunity to enjoy myself!
Snowpiercer is adding 117 theaters on Wednesday and another 27 on Friday, while Begin Again is listed as "Everywhere" on Wednesday as well.

Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 6/27
Nuts. Up until recently the posters for Begin Again had said "everywhere on July 11". Never trust Harvey.
Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 6/27
To be fair, Harvey never said it wouldn't be everywhere on July 4th.
