Kudos to the few who had WWZ on their slates. You most certainly have a leg up over the competition, particularly in box office.

WWZ doubled what I'd expected, not too often that happens...

And what another great hold for Now You See Me. With all the competition, I would've thought it was going to sink fast, but it's quickly closing in on $100M.

Deadline has A Hijacking at an average of $6,000, which would make it miss out on any PTA points. Ouch.

I can only guess The Walking Dead has really whetted the appetite for zombie movies among audiences, or at least blockbuster aimed generic ones with big names...

Wow! The Attack had a $9,126 PTA and didn't receive a single point! That's just some bad timing. Doesn't even matter that it outgunned A Hijacking because 0 PTA points is still 0 PTA points.

For $2 I'll take the 6.5 rating, even though I would have liked a couple PTA.

Weekend Actuals

Top 10:
5 points - Monsters University, $82.4M
4 points - World War Z, $66.4M
3 points - Man of Steel, $41.3M
2 points - This is the End, $13.3M
1 point - Now You See Me, $7.9M
Fast & Furious 6, $4.9M
The Purge, $3.6M
The Internship, $3.4M
Star Trek Into Darkness, $3.1M
Iron Man 3, $2.2M

Who'd have predicted that Now You See Me would end up with more Top 5 points than both Star Trek AND Man of Steel, despite making less than half at the box office than those films? Because that's what's going to happen, it would seem. What a crazy, crazy game.

PTA:
5 points - Monsters University, $20,587
4 points - World War Z, $18,412
3 points - Unfinished Song, $12,864
2 points - 20 Feet From Stardom, $10,744
1 point - Man of Steel, $9,814

The Attack, $9,126
A Hijacking, $5,627

Fuck fuck fuck. Between A Hijacking and Pieta, I hope I survive the Ultimate leagues.

Awesome opening for Monsters Uni and WWZ. Let's hope for the sake of my draft Monsters can hold up over the coming weeks before Despicable Me 2 is released, and hopefully with it being the first major animation since schools finished it will eat up most of the available BO and leave all the following animations fighting for scraps. I can but hope.

Wish I'd taken it and WWZ in more leagues though, but glad I already loaded up on PTA movies from the last few weekends.
