Snitch, $1.3M
Safe Haven, $1.2M
The Last Exorcism 2, $1.1M

Well, I see that emos can still drive a movie to success.

Meanwhile, what happened to Dead Man Down? The marketing was strong and the cast was there but only a $5.5 million weekend. In Hollywood's constant attempts to turn every week into Summer, it feels like that adult-aimed product is suffering the hardest and this film is no exception.
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

What happened is they decided to open it against the one movie so far in 2013 that everyone wants to see....

I personally wanted to see Dead Man Down and thought it looked interesting, especially with Terrence Howard playing the villain. But it was obviously a mistake opening against Oz. Just like Brooklyn's Finest opening against Alice In Wonderland.

Banks, are you going to enter Round Three? It's too late for you to pick Oz now...

And, I'm not sure it looks all that fantastic. Blasphemy, I know. We'll see. I just wanted to say something before its release. I didn't want to be accused of stating the obvious after the fact (that is if it under-performs).

Jack drops really hard. Maybe they should have kept that summer release after all...
Beyond the Hills is a bit disappointing in PTA, fortunately there's not much competition this weekend and it can grab a few points.
