Honestly, Chasing Mavericks has been advertised just as much, if not more, than Cloud Atlas.

The only thing is Cloud Atlas' trailers and TV spots tell you nothing about the movie, other than Tom Hanks and Halle Berry is in it. At least if you watch a 30 second Chasing Mavericks spot, you KNOW what a maverick is and that the movie is about surfing.

Yes, because we're all so cool. With our regular postings on an internet forum. Decidated to a fantasy-football-esque game about movie box office results.

Now excuse me while I barricade my door from the hoards of hot women trying to get to me.

Paranormal Activity grossed $4.5 million on Thursday night, a far cry from the third film's $8 million Thursday gross. No news on Alex Cross's Thursday night totals (yes, it had Thursday night shows).

Edit: The Hollywood Reporter is estimating a $15 million Friday for Paranormal Activity 4 (that includes the Thursday night showings). I guess Paramount's decision to make the fifth film not carry the Paranormal Activity name (it will be called The Oxnard Tapes instead and be aimed at Hispanic audiences) was a sign that this installment would disappoint at the box office.
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

Everyone knew Argo was going to have one of the best holds of any film this year.

That would explain why it's only on your August Ultimate slates, right Geez? But I shouldn't really be teasing anyone, it's not on any of my slates. :(

I meant after the tremendous word of mouth prior to release...

It is only on my August slate because the later slates are backloaded because people in the pricing schemes forgot that movies in November and December make more money than those in October, thus throwing off the prices.

Yeah, well, the crappy weekend for PA4 as well as the inevitable huge drop may spell my end in both BO tournaments, as my slates were barely hanging on after underperformances for Hope Springs, House at the End of the Street and Trouble With the Curve. I have a sliver of a chance to hang on in the HY, but I am now officially toast in the FY. F**k.
