I was actually convinced that Argo would not connect with audiences. It reminded me too much of Body of Lies, with opened at the same time four years earlier and bombed. That and movies featuring Hollywood in the plot are rarely successful.
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

Well I'm glad Argo is on a good way of success, but I regret not trusting it enough in the game. I don't have it on many slates.

Ben Affleck is an established draw as a director. People liked Gone Baby Gone and loved The Town. Plus they advertised the hell out of it and it got great reviews. I still need to see it.

I knew it was going to hold well because of the early reception/awards buzz and the A+ Cinemascore only helped matters. I mean I thought it was really good, but older audiences think it's an absolute masterpiece.

When I saw Argo, I hadn't seen that many old people is one spot since I went to Robot & Frank. It's playing older now, which is a good thing - because all the awards buzz will help it later in its run. Similar to The Kings Speech I guess.

And it was an amazing movie.

Wow, Argo is holding strong. Think it should end up with $60-70m, which isn't bad.

As for The Flat, Friday's estimate had it behind Brooklyn Castle. Should have a PTa of about $5K, which will get it 1 PTA point, maybe 2.

Nice PTA for "The Sessions". I'm a bit disappointed by the 2nd weekend of Sinister, even if horror films nevr really hold well, I was hoping this one would fare better, especially with the disappointment of PA4.

The flat looks like it got 2 pta points. Did that get factored into scoring?

To answer the lingering question, yes, it would appear that the PTA points were awarded correctly in the last update.
