Love your new quote, Empire. Real Genius is a gold mine of great quotes! My favorites:

Mitch: Something weird happened last night...
Chris: Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?
Mitch: ...no.
Chris: Why am I the only person that has that dream?

Chris: I was just contemplating the immortal words of Socrates, who said "I drank what?!"

Chris: Kent puts his name on his license plate.
Mitch: My mother does the same thing with my underwear.
Chris: Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?

Classic Kilmer.

Thanks. Just watched it again. Hadn't seen it in quite some time. I used to watch it on a regular basis. It's still hilarious! Your first quote is my second favorite set of lines in the movie. Plus, always had a thing for Deborah Foreman. Valley Girl is still one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I find myself wanting to apologize for that, but then that's what makes it a guilty pleasure.

Apparently the tracking people are ignoring how Won't Back Down fared (which I believe is a title to compare Here Comes The Boom to, along with Warrior).

But tracking for Won't Back down was pretty low at the same stage. Also Won't Back Down had no recognisable stars.

But still, it's proof that the inspirational teacher genre doesn't work anymore. The School of Rock killed it by making fun of every cliche about it in the book and therefore no one takes such films seriously anymore.

I don't really view this film as an inspirational teacher/administrator movie. It's no Won't Back Down, Lean On Me, Dangerous Minds or Stand and Deliver. In it's simplest form, it's just a Kevin James physical comedy a la Paul Blart. He just happens to be a teacher instead of a mall security guard. Saving the school is just a backdrop/plot device to drive the humor.

I was channel surfing today, and I found Nobody Walks playing, several times back to back. According to the description, today was the "premiere". And this is regular cable, not VOD.

Anything to get people onto the Lena Dunham bandwagon (Hollywood and New York are pushing her as the next big indie talent but no one is biting).

Was it on a premium channel?

Though not in the game, I've found out that Atlas Shrugged Part II (why they made a sequel, I do not know) will open in 1,012 theatres tomorrow. Seeing how the first was hated by almost everyone and the first screenings for the sequel have gone badly, I will guess $800,000 for the weekend.

Alex Cross is going to BOMB...what a terrible release platform, and I still haven't seen any trailers for it

I've seen a bunch of trailers for Alex Cross but there's no big sell on the film. Perry can't sell drama, Matthew Fox is a television actor and it's been 11 years since there's been an Alex Cross film (where Morgan Freeman played him). $10 million opening weekend at best but then again it could surprise in certain markets (such as Atlanta and Detroit).
