End of watch looks exactly like an episode of Southland. Love that show.
Trouble With the Curve looks generic and boring as hell.

I hope The Master manages a decent pta despite the 800 theater expansion...
The Perks of Being a Wallflawer is the clear winner of the pta race. It's expanding in almost 20 cities next week and it's going wide on october 5th. A 9 pta total is what I'm hoping for.

Right now (according to The Hollywood Reporter), Trouble With The Curve, The House at the End of the Street and End of Watch are in the $11-14 million range while Dredd is flopping with $7-8 million. The Master is looking at $5 million.

I'm seeing The Master tomorrow. With only one theatre in the whole area running it (but four theatres here somehow still running The Last Ounce of Courage, which bombed last week), it should be crowded.

Yeah I saw Dredd last night and I still want to see End of Watch and Trouble with the Curve. I can't think of the last time there was a weekend where I was interested in three or more releases that were coming out.

I told you Eastwood's appearance at the RNC would hurt it.

No, it didn't. This is idiotic. His movies are ALWAYS legs films. They don't break out in their opening week, they rely on strong word of mouth and grow, like most films aimed at older audiences do.

If his movies are legs films, then how do you explain the low numbers on Invictus and J. Edgar? And Gran Torino had a big opening when it went wide (and wasn't hampered by bizarre appearances).

The film will be lucky to hit $50 million now (seeing that this is a film that Warner Bros. expected to be big).
