Well, Nikki's estimates are holding strong but the number one movie is still too close to call (Deadline and Variety are saying The Woman in Black, The Hollywood Reporter is saying Chronicle).

Meanwhile, The Grey is looking at an $11.5 million second weekend. Underworld and One For The Money should round out the top five as Big Miracle is looking at a $6 million weekend.
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

so, im curious, how does the superbowl affect this weekend movie wise? Would it be a good idea to screen a sports movie here? Whats the last time there was a sports film shown on this weekend? Where is Al Gore? If there was a fight between Tyson and Ali, at their peak, who would win? Does it ever stop raining here in Dublin? Is someone going to answer these silly questions?

BOM estimates are in and a little higher than expected:

1. Chronicle - $8.65m
2. The Woman In Black - $8.3m
3. The Grey - $3.0m
4. Big Miracle - $2.3m
5. One For The Money - $1.7m

should be an interesting battle for top spot...

No guys will be at the movies on Sunday, while more than usual chicks and families will be there on Sunday. And according to BOM, the only sports movie to open on Super Bowl weekend would be The Wrestler, which went wide on Jan 30, 2009 - but even that's not a sports movie really.

Studios know better than to have a sports movie open against the Super Bowl.

Al Gore is trying to save glaciers, and Ali. And if you mean Dublin, Ohio (right near me), it's actually pretty nice there. I assume in Dublin, Ireland it rains Guinness...

After backing Woman in Black almost two whole days, Deadline finally conceded the weekend win to Chronicle: $22.2 to $21.5. Those numbers would also give Chronicle a $100 higher PTA than Woman, so it's going to be extremely close on that front.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Yep, back in the land of guiness, its my last trip around europe then i go back home in 2 weeks, sadly.

Hmm, so 20m from 2 films this weekend? That cant be right. Well, i guess not everyone likes NFL, after all you could probably go watch a film everytime they stop play

Al Gore IS saving the planet, South Park made that clear haha

Since everyone is recovering from the Superbowl I may as well post the estimates:

1 Chronicle (2012) $22 mil
2 The Woman in Black $21 mil
3 The Grey $9.5 mil
4 Big Miracle $8.5 mil
5 Underworld Awakening $5.6 mil

PTA so far is a bit confusing, as I'm not sure if WE is counted (think it was made available to the leagues at the last minute). Assuming it is...

PTA Feb Leagues
5 points: WE
4 points: Chronicle
3 points: The Woman in Black
2 points: Big Miracle

No figures for Perfect Sense just yet

PTA in Jan Leagues is the same but Coriolanus gets a point (unless Perfect Sense beats it)

PTA Dec Leagues
5 points: WE
4 points: A Separation
3 points: Chronicle
2 points: The Woman in Black
1 point: We Need to Talk About Kevin

Aaaaaaaah, the Superbowl ! I was wondering where was everyone, I felt a bit lonely those last few hours... but that's why !
I hope Perfect sense turns good PTA numbers. If WE can, so can Perfect Sense I hope. Another 4 points for A separation ? When will it stop ?

Hmm. Maybe taking Chronicle AND The Woman in Black in the new draft wasn't such a bad idea after all....

$4 for 1 PTA point? Seems like Perfect Sense is another bust PTA pick...
