I think the reason why The Help did well at the box office is because of Emma Stone's performance in the film.
Current Film Watchlist:

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire
Monkey Man
Civil War
Spy X Family: Code White
The First Omen
The Fall Guy
Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes

Emma Stone isn't a big box office draw. The biggest reason was that it was a book that spent 100 weeks on the New York Times' Best Seller List as well as it presumably being good all around 8.0 IMDb, 62 Metacritic, 73% Fresh ensuring a good word of mouth.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

as much as i like Emma Stone, i have to agree, she isn't why The Help did well.

Maybe that's not the reason. Maybe it's because more people liked the book and they wanted to see the movie so bad.

What W said. That and its the first film in months that has been exclusively geared towards female audiences, particularly older female audiences.

As I said on the Super League standings thread, there has been no word. No income has been posted.

Even worse, Littlerock's Rating was not added to the stats of those who picked it.

It would be one thing if it reported shitty numbers and all we got out of it was its Rating, but...

I've sent an e-mail to Manuela, and asked whether LIttlerock can be removed from the league entirely. That would give everyone who picked it a chance to pick something else (assuming there are any other choices for movies that cheap). At the very VERY least, whoever picked it should be able to get credit for its Rating.
