SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 7/15/11

Re: SPEARE'S TIPS - The Films of 7/15/11
I just dropped Tabloid from a few, and kept it in others. Life Above All may have nabbed some points in a slow weekend, but I'm avoiding it. Decided to wait and see what would be a good replacement for Tabloid later in the round.

Yeah, I dropped Tabloid from every slate. There are easily movies with it's equivalent potential coming up in the coming couple of months so I'll just wait and see.

I don't think any of this weekend's limited release is interesting. They are too dangerous, and don't look like ones with possible legs...

But the thing will be frontloaded to the max, and the word of mouth I'm hearing for now isn't really good... Still, it's a hell of a start.

I pretty much need it to be "frontloaded to the max" to share a HY BO victory, so that's fine with me. And $180 M blows TDK out of the water. Surely it's the bigger 3D ticket prices because I don't see as much buzz as TDK had.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

HP has now officially shattered the midnight record with 43.5 million. idk about other theaters but our midnight was easily our busiest ever. Eclipse our previous best sold out 6 shows. HP sold out 11 and we had people buying tickets for the 3am shows most of which saw the midnight and wanted to see it again. It's also sitting pretty at 8.7 on imdb

that's pretty great. i'm glad i opted for HP in the may leagues instead of transformers. $180M for $25 in the game is a steal

Winnie the Pooh probably would have fared better had they saved it for the fall. The Rotten Tomatoes rating is at 90% and the audience reaction at my showing was quite good.

Early word on Friday was that Salvation Blvd was doing way worse than Life Above All, so don't expect much from it
