The word of mouth wasn't that bad. The movie fared as well as the other movies that opened the same week (it had the same Rotten Tomatoes score as Transformers 3) and the showing that I went to had excellent word-of-mouth. It also had the lowest Monday drop of all the movies released.
Movies with much worse reviews and word-of-mouth have done better (I'm looking at you, disposable crap like Hall Pass).
