I am not a big 3D person at all. I think it's pointless. That being said, Transformers had the best 3D i've seen besides Jackass 3. It actually served a purpose and made the film more exciting to watch.

...I like 3D...

Though I've only seen Avatar and KFP2 in 3d, I think it adds texture and don't mind the $2 upcharge here.

I've seen pretty much every movie available in 3D except some of the smaller releases like cave of forgotten dreams, I love it and will see any movie I can in 3D. I also see them for free most of the time though. Some of them do kinda suck when they use the conversion process but others do a very good job (Thor for instance). Jackass 3 was possibly the best movie I've seen in 3D because I could tell which shots were done with the 3D cameras and which were converted. The shots done with the right cameras were much clearer and the depth was better. I have yet to see transformers because I'm waiting till the 3rd to go the IMAX about 60 miles away.

When I see a movie I like to have the best experience first so I see it in IMAX 3D then 3D then again when it doesn't show on a 3D screen anymore. When you watch a movie in 3D sometimes you don't get the awe inspiring feeling but when you watch it shortly afterwards in regular 2D you realize how much better it was the first time.

Early reviews:

Larry Crowne: 40%
Transformers 3: 37%
Monte Carlo: withheld from critics until tonight (Fox obviously knew they had a dud in their hands)

Not nececcarily. It could end up like Harry Potter 5, earning only 77mil for the 3 day, or 95 for the 4 day max

it may be a tad early to be calling it, and i'll admit it if i end up being wrong. but Transformers 3 won't get to $300M, if it does, only barely.

It''s because they wanted to include it in the July leagues so it has to remain open till July 1st.

Afraid so. If we'd put Transformers 3 on its true release date, it would have been off the table for the July leagues, which wouldn't have been fair. We figured giving people a two-day cushion to pick it would be the lesser of two evils. History will repeat itself with The Debt in a couple months, though I doubt the impact of that film will be even 1% of Transformers.

BOM has Transformers earning $5.5M on Tuesday, $37.7M on Wednesday.

Those Wednesday numbers are a little UNDER what I was expecting for Transformers, I had it down for closer to $40m. Maybe the Summer Blockbuster slump continues....

Transformers 3 had a $20 million Thursday. After two days, it is behind Transformers 2 $91 million to $63 million. It is also behind the first one $65 million to $63 million.

However, there is good news. The first two had both Friday and Saturday increases.
