I really wish Pixar doesnt cash in too much with all the sequels, keeping it original everytime is the reason the company is held in such high regard.

As Wu Tang Clan would say, "Cash rules everything around me..."

As long as they keep making a shit load of money off of them, expect more sequels from Pixar (and every other studio).

How many sequels have they made? Just TS2 and 3 and they're considered among the best the company has put out. So if they're consistently making quality films with characters I love, I really don't mind. I was a fan of the first Cars as well as everything else they've done (though I didn't like A Bug's Life and Incredibles nearly as much).
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Yeah, I don't see what the issue with sequels is as long as they are GOOD sequels. We loved these characters from the Pixar movies so much the first time around, and the Toy Story sequels proved that they know how to take known characters and further develop them, so I don't see any reason why not to give Pixar the benefit of the doubt to do whatever they want. I'm sure they will do something original soon enough.

Be prepared for the Apocalypse everybody. Cars just went rotten.... 59%. Yikes. Pixar can mess up after all.

No doubt, but it at least shows that Pixar are not unfallible, and maybe they will take note of our hearts and not our wallets in the future... Probably not, but you never know.

Not surprisingly, most of the negative reviews came from hipster magazines who probably hate the concept of sequels. Don't be surprised if it returns to a Fresh rating.

Or it could be that the original wasn't very good so the sequel is mostly likely worse?

Some of the more professional critics have been claiming it's better than the first.

Buscemi, you seriously have a theory for everything when it goes against what you say.

I agree with Boosh, for what it's worth... I think the RT score will end up "fresh" before all is said and done.

But it's interesting that both DreamWorks AND Pixar are likely to have what is likely to be considered "disappointments" in the SAME SUMMER.

well, i would wait until the numbers come in before calling it a disappointment. But then again, i guess the decision of wether or not it's a disappointment is made a bit arbitrary if the merchandise makes 5 billion dollars, huh?

Assuming Cars 2 doesn't make $300M, it would probably be considered a "disappointment", especially given what Pixar's last two films (Up and Toy Story 3) did.
