totally agree with what brock said about superhero films,

and personally, i'm excited to see Bad Teacher, i just hope that it's not one of those comedies that has all the funny things in the trailer.

i think it looks hilarious and i like cameron diaz, even though it seems i'm the only one in the world.

and wow, i'm surprised at green lanterns numbers. It's going to take the PTA crown from Tree, although Tree might make it into the top ten, not top 5, but hey, maybe next week.

Yep, in the red-band trailer.

I think it'll do pretty well too.

It will do well if people are willing to watch a completely unlikeable and vapid main character treat people like shit for two hours.

Audiences will wait for Larry Crowne a week later since it's a comedy about school that makes people feel good.

I don't know. Larry Crowne looks soooooo predictable and unsurprising. The trailer shows the whole film.

But Tom Hanks has unequaled star power and is basically a screen legend (if he plays funny or inspiring, it makes money). Also, some people like the comfort of a safe comedy against the remakes, the big, loud and dumb action films and teen-oriented material. And there are no adult-oriented movies out at the moment.

Agreed, Buscemi, I think it will be huge. But it has a very different audience to Bad Teacher, which is more 20-something. Larry Crowne will skew to an older audience, one that hasn't been catered for at all this summer.

Personally, I think the real problem with Bad Teacher is that Bridesmaids was so big that many might feel Bad Teacher is a poor retread (broadly, an R-Rated female-led comedy). That, and the reviews will be poor (the UK ones aren't great).

Larry Crowne may break out among older people, but Jesus I've seen that damn trailer on every movie since April and it's looks so goddamn terrible, I can't help but root against it.

And yeah, Six is right about Bridesmaids still going strong and stealing some of Bad Teacher's thunder, but I hope Bad Teacher has some good WOM on it to at least pull in some bucks until Horrible Bosses comes out (which has an infinitely funnier greenband trailer and commercials).

Well, i can agree with that as well. Horrible Bosses looks even better than Bad Teacher.

I have no doubt Larry Crowne will have good business, but what I don't understand is when you say Boosch that audiences will not go see Bad Teacher and wait for Larry Crowne, the films look nothing alike and targets different audiences. Younger audiences already aren't exstatic about films like Larry Crowne, but when the trailer shows them the whole film, they don't go see it. Perspnnally, the trailer took out all desire I could have had to see the film. ANd I'm sure a lot of people will be the same.

After four reviews, Cars 2 is at 75%. The one negative review was a very bad one though.
