I asked Manuela that question, UDM, and no, the March's leagues stats end with Sunday's numbers, not Monday's.

Great word of mouth on Bridesmaids.

Early Friday numbers:

The Hangover Part II $28 million
Kung Fu Panda 2 $13 million (I'm really not getting how this is doing so poorly, the marketing is everywhere and the reviews are on par with the first one)

I can only imagine it's because the kids are waiting for Sat-Mon to see it. Many kids are now finishing up school, right?

Partially, I'm sure Shryke, but that number is really low. Shrek 4 last year, about the same weekend, $20.8 M Friday. The year before, Up was 21.1 the same Friday. Prince Caspian = $19.4 M. First Panda $20.3 M, the week after Memorial Day.

Nevermind. I now think it has very little to do with it after seeing all those numbers myself. It'll be lucky to get a bump up to $18 M Sat, $15 M Sun for a $46 M 3 Day. Probably more like 41-43 M.

i think it'll do better than 41-43M, the sunday holds will be much higher than usual, but it won't get to the $100M 5-day that was predicted. I also don't see why it's underperforming, bodes well for Cars 2 though and my full year slate ;).

Wow. I just can't explain how KFP 2 opened so softly. The first film has held up really well, the reviews have been very good and advertising is everywhere. I'm stupefied.

I bet it pulls in 50+ over Saturday-Sunday. But it was never beating Hangover 2.

I went to an early afternoon showing of The Hangover Part II (which was on four screens) and there were only about 25 people there in a 250 seat auditorium. It looks like it's now suffering the fanboy effect.
