MTC has Madea at 32M, Elephants at 16M, and Cats at 5M......for what it's worth

Very interesting. MTC was one of the closest in predict Scream 4 (though it still overestimated). So will Madea surprise by doing better than we all expected? The other two seem about right.

I haven't seen any of the Madea films and i'm not going to start now. although if it opens with 32M it could be an alright pick in BO. but it still wouldn't be worth it in Ultimate. I can't really tell with Water for Elephants. as you said the leads really aren't a big box office draw, but there haven't been any romance films in quite a while, so maybe there is a demand out there. personally, i am a sucker for period pieces, although i will wait for dvd. also, form what i can tell in the trailer, the cinematography looks fantastic as well.

BOM Sunday Estimates

Top 5:
5 points - Rio, $26.8M
4 points - Madea's Big Happy Family, $25.7M
3 points - Water For Elephants, $17.5M
2 points - Hop, $12.5M
1 point - Scream 4, $7.1M
African Cats, $6.4M

Wow, I never imagined Hop having a 16% GAIN from last week... wonder what prompted that?! (That puts Hop over $100M overall now, making it the third blockbuster of 2011.) Otherwise, I was fairly close on the Top 3.

PTA:
5 points - Incendies
4 points - Madea's Big Happy Family
3 points - Rio
2 points - Meek's Cutoff
1 point - Water For Elephants

No surprises there.
