Well, last night at my theater, we had sellouts of Black Swan, The Kings Speech, The Mechanic, and at least 3 shows of No Strings Attached.

NSA should easily pull ahead of The Rite, and Mechanic should stay in the #3 spot for the weekend.

Well The Rite won the weekend with $15 million. No Strings Attached got $13-14 million and The Mechanic got $10 million.

My predictions for the weekend of January 28-30, 2011:

1. The Rite - $16 million
2. The Mechanic - $14 million
3. No Strings Attached - $11 million (ironically, the same total I predicted it would have in its OW)
4. The Green Hornet - $10 million
5. The King’s Speech - $8 million

PTA Champ: Biutiful

Sunday Estimates

Top 5:
5 points - The Rite, $15 million
4 points - No Strings Attached, $13.7M (that's twice in a row I've undercut this movie)
? points - The Mechanic, $11.5M (tie for now)
? points - The Green Hornet, $11.5M (tie for now)
1 point - The King's Speech, $11.1M

PTA (Nov/Dec leagues only):
5 points - Biutiful, $8,088
4 points - Barney's Version, $6,436
3 points - The Illusionist, $5,440
2 points - The Rite, $5,027
1 point - No Strings Attached, $4,517

From Prada to Nada got $4,297 PTA in 256 theaters. For the January leagues, Prada (at the moment) stands at fifth place since The Illusionist doesn't count. It's possible something could sneak in and get points, like Phil Ochs again.

User Ratings:

The Rite - 6.2
The Mechanic - 7.3 (not bad)
Biutiful - 7.6
From Prada to Nada - 4.6
Happy 60th birthday Jet Li! (4/26/23)

I'm surprised From Prada To Nada did so well. That looked like the kind of thing that would be straight-to-DVD. But then again, Lionsgate seems to do well with the Hispanic-oriented films (except when Kuno Becker is starring, that guy is box office poison).
