U missed the memo UDM. If it was hilarious in any way it was only that anyone was able to sit through that movie. It was the only time I've ever gotten a refund on a free ticket.

And Ron the fact that you think Hugo will double Arthur Christmas is quite hilarious. No one I've talked to seems to know what its about or care for that matter. I'm betting on crash and burn it'll top out at 50 I think if that. The studio might be betting on legs but when it opens to 12m even holiday quality legs wont save it

Ron Burgundy wrote:The fact that it opens with 1200 is a good thing, it will do a similar thing to other success stories that opened low, not sure i can remember a family flick doing that though. Remember it is made by Martin Scorsese, who i honest think will not make a bad film until the day he dies, and it has a steller cast including Sacha Baren Cohen, Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer and Ray Winstone, not to mention yound up and comer Asa Butterfield.
None of this means anything when it comes to family films.

I think Hugo is going to be the flop of the Thanksgiving, it's going to be buried alongside films like The Muppets and Arthur Christmas, which have a wider appeal. Anyways onto this week...

1.The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn $152 Mil
2.Happy Feet Two $43 Mil
3.Immortals $16 Mil
4.Puss In Boots $15 Mil
5.Jack and Jill $14 Mil

My Week With Marilyn will be the flop of Thanksgiving. 600 theatres but almost no advertising and little buzz. Hugo will build due to the Oscar buzz and it being based on a popular children's book.

The Muppets is overhyped like crazy while Arthur Christmas will stall at $60 million.

Never finished Sweeney Todd.

And does everyone think Hugo will flop bad, then why did the pricing commitee give it $14, just look at jack and jill/immortals.

Of course Hugo will flop. Because I picked it in the year-long draft league.

Poor Shryke. At least you have The Dark Knight Returns to console you next year. Though I hear it's moving to Christmas 2013

You'd better be kidding, fellah.

So you have so little faith in The Avengers that you won't even consider it over Breaking Dawn 2?

The Avengers should be big, but as we saw with Harry Potter, the final part of an installment should not be underestimated.

Unless the previous part is underwhelming. See The Matrix.
