I really thought D&D would break 40M this weekend, but 38.5M is still a promising start.
Shazam already below 5M at weekend #3, wow.

I wouldn't be surprised if that performance for His Only Son was an attempt by Evangelicals to push the "D&D is Satanic" narrative they've long believed onto audiences. Yes, it had an A Cinemascore and it was from the producers of The Chosen but was any non-church person aware of this movie before it started appearing on coming soon lists? This will drop hard in the second weekend as Prime has that Mark Burnett-produced movie arriving.

I also took a look at the distributor's forthcoming movies and saw they've got their own Unplanned-inspired conspiracy theory piece in the works, focusing on how evil pharmaceutical companies are. Yes, they do charge up the ass for things but I'd rather trust medication and a good doctor than praying to something that probably doesn't exist to cure a life-threatening illness.
