Deadline has Black Sea at $37 K in 5 theaters, meaning $7400 PTA. Nothing on the other two.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Those Mommy numbers are baffling. Where the heck were arthouse lovers in the US this weekend ?
I already regret putting the film on many slates.
As for American Sniper, it never stops surprising. If you had told me the day before its wide expansion it would make $64M on that first wide weekend, I would have laughed. So that the film does that on its 2nd weekend, it's amazing.

Unfortunately, not all audiences have as good a taste as French people.
Many people had the movie, so we won't get really hurt, I hope.

Don't make me say what I didn't say. I know French people tend to appear haughty and snob, but we're not (that much). ;)

Isn't Mommy French-Canadian? It just doesn't make sense that art house audiences wasn't interested in it.

And who's doing the column this week?

Unlike many other movies Mommy isn't even available on the internet, be it legal or illegal... I think many people are eager to see it all around the world, because even in those place where it had a release it wasn't in many screens... I have been lucky to see it, but in Italy many people couldn't...
I really feel angry as a cinephile and a Dolan fan at looking at those american numbers...

The distributor was obviously hoping for a Best Foreign Language Film nomination at the Oscars, but that didn't happen so no one is talking about Mommy right now. Cannes 2014 is a distant memory, it didn't get any love from the Golden Globes, and I don't recall seeing it on any influential year-end lists, so whatever buzz it had nine months ago has since faded. If they had struck while the iron was hot and gotten it into theatres last summer or fall, when there was less direct competition, it might have done better.

It is. Americans must be suspicious of French-canadians.

I think Six offered to do it.
