Friday Estimates

The Lion King, $78.5M
Spider-Man, $6M
Toy Story 4, $4.4M
Crawl, $1.7M
Yesterday, $1.3M
Stuber, $1.1M
Aladdin, $1.1M

Weekend Projections:

The Lion King, $192.5M
Spider-Man, $21M
Toy Story 4, $13.6M
Crawl, $5.4M
Yesterday, $4.8M
Stuber, $3.9M
Aladdin, $3.7M
Annabelle, $2.6M
Midsommar, $1.6M
Pets 2, $1.5M
Avengers: Endgame, $1.3M (and becomes the #1 all time movie worldwide, passing Avatar)

So. Wow.

Lion King seems destined for at least a $500M total, depending on its next two holds.

Spider-Man: Far From Home should easily eclipse $350M. How much beyond that it goes remains to be seen.

Toy Story 4 may have just enough mustard left to get to $400M.

Aladdin has an outside shot at $350M.

What a summer for this four films. What a disappointing summer for EVERYTHING ELSE.

Toy Story might be a bit higher as it's the second feature with most drive-in showings of The Lion King (and a lot of them have three week requirements on The Lion King). Disney tends to be big on the drive-in bump.

Are we still saying that toy story 4 is a disappointment?? It will probably end up making right around what 3 made

You tell me:

"If "Toy Story 4" shallows $500M, I'll be VERY surprised."

"And if you think Toy Story 4 making $500 million seems like a stretch, look at The Incredibles and Incredibles 2. The first made $261 million ($383 million adjusted in 2018). Incredibles 2 grossed $608 million, a jump of over $200 million between films despite a 14 year wait."

"Yuuppp. I would personally predict $650-$700M for "The Misadventures of Sporky & Co."

"I’m going to be a little more conservative and predict an opening in the 160s, which will still garner a cume of $450m+"

Just a few predictions from around these parts. Remember, disappointing relative to expectations does not mean financial failure.

Not too shabby. But then, this wasn't a difficult weekend to call.

Ha, yeah. As you said earlier - this has been a summer of 4 movies - and woe to you if you didn't choose one of them.
