Cinemascores:

Spider-Man: A+ (best for the character, surpassing Homecoming's A)
The Mule: A- (I expected much lower)
Mortal Engines: B-

Weekend Estimates

Top 10:
5 points - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, $35.4M
4 points - The Mule, $17.2M
3 points - Dr. Seuss' The Grinch, $11.6M
2 points - Ralph Breaks the Internet, $9.6M
1 point - Mortal Engines, $7.5M
Creed II, $5.4M
Bohemian Rhapsody, $4.1M
Instant Family, $3.7M
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, $3.6M
Green Book, $2.8M
Once Upon a Deadpool, $2.6M ($3.9M total)

PTA:
5 points - If Beale Street Could Talk, $54.8K
4 points - Mary Queen of Scots, $10.6K
3 points - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, $9.3K
2 points - Capernaum, $9.2K
1 point - The Mule, $6.6K

Predictions/Observations:

1. Spider-Man gets the predicted OW. $100M seems assured.

2. The Mule also opens as predicted, but I think it will struggle to hit $50M.

3. The Grinch is certain to hit $250M by Xmas. It may even hit $275M before all is said and done.

4. Ralph Breaks the Internet looks good for about $180M, just barely shy of the original. I don't know if a third films is even being planned, but ...

5. Mortal Engines crashed and burned even harder than most people thought. Bummer.

6. A Star is Born WILL hit $200M this week, a milestone that seems unlikely for Bohemian Rhapsody (kudos to both, though).
Happy 60th birthday Jet Li! (4/26/23)

The Mule was going to have a high CinemaScore no matter what. The idiotic MRA's seem to support anything that one of their own makes.

Using that logic, the next time Bill Burr makes a movie, he'll get an A+.

At least Eastwood movies are usually good.

The Front Runner, on the other hand, is one of the worst movies I've seen all year (not as bad as Gringo or Vox Lux, however) and Burr's (I've never seen anything else he's done) performance was terrible.

I'd say $175M seems assured. $200M still possible.
Let's not forget how the holiday season works at the end of the year. Last year, Ferdinand opened on the very same weekend as Spider-verse, with a $13.4M weekend, and ended with $84M in the bank when all was said and done. So it had a x6 multiplier. Ferdinand ! With a much lesser buzz, word of mouth, reviews etc.
Spider-verse is opening x2.5 bigger than Ferdinand, and last year's competition was Star Wars, Jumanji, Greatest Showman, Pitch Perfect 3 and a still strong Coco, so this year won't be a bigger competition.

So mark my words, Spider-verse will easily make $150M, probably 175/180M, and I'm ready to put a coin on $200M.

Don't forget that Spidey has both Bumbleebee and Aquaman to contend with next week, both of which are gunning for the exact same audience. It's gonna be a bloodbath.

As for The Mule, I think it'll easily cruise past 50m with that kinda Cinemascore.

Sure, but during the Christmas holidays, every day of the week is like a saturday box-office wise for a film with great reviews and WOM. I'm confident about my predictions ;)
