2. The Lion King
3. Toy Story 4
4. Captain Marvel
5. Spider Man Far from Home
6. Aladdin
7. Joker
8. It Chapter Two
9. Us
10. Hobbs & Shaw
11. John Wick 3
12. How to Train Your Dragon
13. Secret Life of Pets 2
14. Pokémon Detective Pikachu
15. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
16. Shazam!
17. Dumbo

Well, how the mighty has fallen. And it's due to Cats, and anyone who didn't put Joker on their slate. Like me (it was on my bench. Myyyyyyyyyyyyy beeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnch)

Spectre looks like he'll take it, with Banks having nothing more in the tank, and sadly being victim of MIB's under-performance.

I'll do the final tally in a week or two, but looks like Spectre nails it.

How about 2020 we make where we slot the movie relevant. I’m thinking you get a higher gross for how high you place it. Something like:

1. 100% of the gross
2. 95%
3. 90%
...
20. 5%

Everyone knows there’s 10 or so that will 100% be in the top 20 every year. Whether you place Star Wars #1 or #20 it doesn’t matter now.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Problem with doing that is then it changes the game to be more about getting the order right than about getting 20 top performers.

Right now, getting your 20th pick and bench right makes or breaks you. If you weight the 20th pick at 5% then the difference between picking a $200M breakout and a $20M flop at that spot is only $9M.

Maybe more complicated but we could do a bonus instead. If you pick the right spot you get a 5% bonus. That could add up and reward rather than hurt.

Completely agree. It would be one thing if we were all picking the same movies, but there's enough deviation in the lineups as is to ensure this game is very competitive.

I'll announce it in a couple of days.

Thoughts on the options - either 5% bonus for the correct position or a reduction based on position (100% for your #1, 95% for your #2 etc). I lean towards the latter as that seems to be more fun an competitive, but I'm open to both.

I’d do either the 5% bonus for correct slot or keep it as is. The 100%-5% scale would take all the fun out of picking sleeper hits.
