I've had a good past few month so far with absolutely nothing to show for it. Hopefully this will change next week.

Chasing:
3. JohnErle, $595.0M (Divergent… Cesar Chavez)
4. silversurfer19, $593.4M (Peabody… Noah)
7. W, $581.6M (300, Divergent… Noah)
Damn. Where did W come from? I thought I had a pretty good shot at an IM, despite dragging myself down with About Last Light and RoboFlop, like a lot of other people did. W's faith in 300.5 really paid off against a lot of weak competition from Jan-Mar.

I love seeing "Chienfantome" written all over those 1st places... not so much when there's only one weekend left and I'm in danger of losing those 3 first spots.
Come on, I want at least one of those potential IMs !!!

Well I know im fucked. Missed the first two weeks of Feb, therefore the Lego movie. Now the Muppets has crashed and that's the final nail. So sad.

I've been eagerly waiting the regular leagues to update on MMG. I want to see what has to happen to win either.

Still no updates this week, so you'll just have to trust my figures.

Based on this weekend's early projections, here is how I see some of the final races ending up:

BO FY R1

Noah needs to manage about $35M for both Spectre and W to pass Shaan for first and second, respectively, and early estimates have Noah earning well over $40M. Surfer and Empire will be close, but not close enough.

Buscemi, swarehouse and donnie are done, and it looks like the fourth player out in this first round will be leestu, unless Noah can make its OW climb up to $55M, in which case it will be Bossk that is eliminated. Not holding my breath for that.

BO HY R1

Same as above - Spectre and W will ride Noah's OW past Shaan (and Chien).

The same four players will also be eliminated in this round, along with weissac, smee2000 and Fixius.

Ult FY R1

It'll be very close, but the last-weekend boost to the slates of Chien and Brockster will come from the two Top 5 points that are likely to be provided by Grand Budapest. I have them in the Top 2 just a hair's-breadth ahead of myself (DAMN YOU!!!!), Spectre and Geezer.

This looks to be set in stone: donnie, weissac, swarehouse and binkley will be the first to exit the Big Show.

Ult HY R1

Empire will win this one going away with a nearly perfect slate, with Chien holding off Spectre, Geezer and bestfilm for the other IM.

There is some uncertainty as who will be out in this first round. Definitely gone are donnie, weissac, swarehouse, binkley and Bossk. After that, I have leestu, UDM, Crowpath and Buscemi all separated by less than four points, with only two players surviving (barring any ties).

Regulars Leagues Winners:

Ultimate: Chien
Box Office: Shaan

Remember, these are just projections. A lot of things could still change.

If I'm winning BO supers, I think I'm winning Regulars too. The only difference is I have Chavez instead of Vermeer and Shaans slate is the same. Chavez should > Tim, right?

Let's hope your predictions are right Shryke, I could do with 2 IMs and a Regulars win to begin the year.

Since St. Vincent has been pulled from its 4/11 date, I have the ability to replace it with one of several titles that are also coming out that day. Since we still have a couple of weeks, I would like to get as many opinions as possible. This late addition would most likely be priced at the standard $3/$1.

1. Dancing in Jaffa - documentary about pre-teen ballroom dancers in Israel & Palestine
2. Hank and Asha - romantic comedy
3. Hateship Loveship - drama with Guy Pearce and Kristen Wiig
4. none of the above

Please sound off on this by mid-week, if possible.

It would have been more interesting had Joe or The Railway Man been available, as I don't think any of those movies will be successful in any way. Competing against Rio, Only Lovers Left Alive, Under The Skin and Oculus, I just don't see PTA for any of those movies. Perhaps go with Dancing In Jaffa or Hateship Loveship, but it would be for just the 1 PTA, I would guess. I'd go with option 4 though.

Agree on #4. All non-starters

Joe and The Railway Man are much better options.

I plugged in the weekend estimates, and it looks like there may be some changes as to who will get IMs after all. I won't report until the actuals come in, but I think that Chien will not be happy with the news.

Ooooooh don't say that. I must admit that when I saw that The Grand Budapest Hotel didn't get Top 5 points after all, I might be in trouble. But I'll keep my fingers crossed til actuals are in. I'm gonna be so pissed if I go from 3 potential IMs to zero...

I hope that the changes of which you're talking about concern my chances of getting an IM... I will never put together 8 movies like those again... I'm referring to the ULT HY R1

Out of curiosity, I looked at the BO ROI over the past three months to see what the ideal January slate would have been. Here's what I came up with:

Ride Along $11
The Nut Job $12
Son Of God $7
The Lego Movie $31
Non-Stop $17
The Grand Budapest Hotel $5
Divergent $17

TOTAL: $100 spent
BOX OFFICE: $707,841,000

I'm pretty sure that would have been unbeatable.
