On the relatively good side, Shryke now gets Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Surfer and myself get Tammy (which will hopefully compensate for me not picking the massive Godzilla), Empire gets Godzilla, Banks gets The Lego Movie, and Shaan gets A Million Ways to Die in the West (though that's still a wildcard).

On the not-so-good side, John E gets Need for Speed, and Tranny gets Jersey Boys.
God damn it. If I had only known in January that Jersey Boys was going to be R and get no advertising push :( .

Adding Godzilla from my bench helps ease the pain of having Bad Words on my slate. I still have some serious ground to make up, though. I really did think it would be a surprise hit. If it had been I'd have appeared a genius, instead I'm just a fool.

You're not a fool, but you did make us laugh when you announced it on your list ;)

Glad I left Tammy off of my list...but what the fuck was I thinking w/ Jersey Boys? Good lord, what an awful pick. Starting to worry about Hercules too.

I thought had begun to worry about it the day after picking. What am I saying, the minute after you picked it.

Sounds like it, but I'm just writing while watching Brasil/Germany while washing the dishes, and it makes my already poor english, well, sound like drunk english.

Me too, although I actually am drunk after having an emergency work meeting at an airport which turned into a drinking session....

What I wouldn't give for a mulligan or two from my list. Hercules and Tammy. Not winning any points with those two.

What a unique job you have Six, that an emergency work meeting turns into a drinking session in an airport !

God, now I hope that Jupiter Ascending gets postponed so that I can get Apes in. But wait, that would fuck me in the FY Draft league. Ahhhhh!!!!!

Well, picking Tammy was a bad move on my part. And who'da thunk Maleficent would be at #4 at this point?

Worst part is at first I didn't believe in Tammy, I let myself convinced by some of you guys. I'll never trust you again !

Here's the first proper update, now that we're well over the half-way mark. Note that these aren't exact numbers, which I only input when a film has closed.

TOTAL (in millions)
John E: 3080
Chien : 2922
Brockster: 2914
Silvers: 2802
Shryke: 2771
Disco Stu: 2759
Empire: 2742
shaan: 2734
Banks : 2708
W: 2692
Six: 2558
Transf: 2547
Jas: 2538
Walleye: 2503
UDM: 2496
Buscemi: 2047

John E is in the lead by a strong 150m, but has only 3 films left to play in the game. fortunately, most of them will be strong blockbusters. Chien and Brock are coming up from behind with a little more in reserve. Will it be enough. There's a lot to play for in the middle, with any number of players having the potential to rise to the top.

AVERAGE
Banks : 208
Silvers: 200
shaan: 195
Chien : 194
UDM: 192
Shryke: 184
Disco Stu: 183
Brockster: 182
John E: 181
Jas: 181
Transf: 181
W : 179
Empire: 171
Six: 170
Walleye: 166
Buscemi: 157

The averages tell a different story, with Banks so far having the most sensible picks, and having the good luck to see Home get delayed so The LEGO Movie got activated. Banks is one of the few to have Annie and Exodus, and if they over-perform he could take the lead. Surfer is close behind, and he needs Horrible Bosses 2 to hit its mark to get that advantage.

There's another major logjam in the middle, and it's all very close.

September and October will be quiet in terms of this game, but once we hit November the final results will start to become clearer.
