You're right. So did Disco Stu. Need to look again at my list. Mr Peabody and Sherman was only picked by 11 of us!

John E put Need for Speed on his bench
I keep getting this nagging feeling that this movie is going to break out for some reason. Fast cars, explosions, etc...reminds me of Fast and Furious (i.e. plot isn't the best, but damn is all looks really cool).

From your mouth to the ears of the box office gods.

I'm hoping the fact that it has less CGI and more actual stunts will help to set it apart from F&F while still bringing in much of that audience. That 30-second Super Bowl ad was pretty slick.

Agree 100%...that's what got me thinking it is a sleeper.

numbersix wrote:The Equalizer: there aren't a lot of huge action films this year, and the combo of the director of Olympus has fallen and Denzel could spell Taken numbers as it holds across October.
Blended: Sandler and Barrymore reunite in what could be a killer counter-programming move.
Fury: Pitt and the Hollywood Troll fight tank battles? Could be a hit action movie.
Planes 2: Could be a safe little $100m earner for the non-discerning families
The Expendables: The reliables in terms of box office, although the sequels could spell diminishing returns.
Sin City 2: Much anticipated sequel that could improve on the original's BO return
Book of Life: An animation in a rather dead time for kids films
Unbroken: Jolie's Oscar-Bait could hit the target.

agreed with Chien about Denzel's films, and i was thinking the same thing about Sandler, for the last few years, his films do well, but never that well. I completely forgot about Fury. The rest however are not top 20 material.

W, while you missed the deadline I think it's fair to include you, as you didn't pick Lego. So thanks for joining.

If anyone has a problem with W entering, let me know and we can discuss.

I was using HSX, which doesn't show that week's releases. Damn.

W didn't gain any competitive advantage by missing the deadline, and he has to live with missing out on The Lego Movie, so I don't see why anyone would have a problem with him joining in.

But the deadline for entries is really past now. Seriously, you guys.

There's still a month to go before it's release yet, and Lego is stealing all it's thunder for the moment. Give it a couple of weekends and the kids will start getting excited for it.

I only have one thing to say about my Bad Words pick: I had a gut feeling that I couldn't get rid of. It would have been awesome to be right, but now I'm stuck wishing I'd thrown Godzilla or Maleficent into that spot. Oh, well.

Wait a minute, you remember picking Bad Words ?!? I was certain you picked it while being so wasted you would never even remember what the hell happened when you wrote those two words on your list of films.
