Money league

Has anyone ever considered having a money league? Maybe through PayPal?

Why don't we just pay you and Geezer now and get it over with.

It was discussed long ago, back on Fantasy Moguls. No one went for it.

Well, that, plus (if I remember correctly) introducing a PayPal element to the game could technically be construed as "gambling", which opens up a huge can of worms when it comes to licensing and shit like that.

Now, friendly bets between friends happen every time the Super Bowl or March Madness rolls around, which is fine, but given that most of us are scattered all over the globe, it would be tough to implement without a PayPal feature. (Plus, if I also remember correctly), at least half of the regulars here were simply not interested. Now, that might have changed, but it seems we're damned if we do, damned if we don't.

I'm not above the idea, however, so if someone has an idea about how to make it happen with as little fuss as possible, I think people would listen. Even if only a handful of players were interested, it might be worth it.

The paypal thing wouldn't be a problem. I've used it for several fantasy sports leagues with people scattered in different parts of the country. Its a matter of trust between the people doing it, you have to trust people to pay and the collector to shell out the winnings, more than anything else.

I feel like trust has been built with many of the people being on these boards for years as well as with the facebook friendships. I think it could work with paypal and a low entry fee. I'd trust shryke to hold the money or geezer. I've played in fantasy football league with geezer and without personally knowing him or anyone else in the league we havent had any issues getting paid or paying.
