I know. It's just annoying that I did so well for two rounds then fell so hard. That what happens when you go from being one of the few who was right about Die Hard 5: Mission To Moscow to being one of the few who foolishly left Iron Man 3 off his slate. It's getting a wide release (one of the theatres near me has been selling tickets for the past few movies), Hart's last concert film did well in a much smaller number of theatres and it's opening on Independence Day weekend. This could make $15-20 million in the first five days but it gets priced below a number of no hoper titles.

Apparently you are the only one who assumes it is opening wide. Because according to BOM, it is not. It should also have a bad imdb score, get very few if any PTA points, and not a single top 5. When is the last time a stand up movie did well at the box office? I think the answer is never.

It's actually only $2 in BO. I think the $4 in Ultimate is fair. I priced it at $3 in BO as I assumed a 4-5 multiple in my prices, meaning I'm expecting it to earn 12-15m, or double what his last film made. This is to factor in a studio releasing it this time. I'd be surprised if it made over 20m this time.

That's a crazy low multiplier when Monsters U is locked in at just over 30 dollars and MOS at $38, Six. I was shooting for 7, 6 at the absolute lowest. In which case, 2 dollars seems highly appropriate. Multiplier has to come from the prices we don't get to set for the season, otherwise the pricing will become lopsided.

Actually, for the summer I use a different multiplier for super-wide releases, usually around 7-8. For limited minor wide releases I still think 4-5 is more accurate. I don't think a one-size-fits-all multiplier even works.
