Yes, I'm eager to know if I can stay out of last place in either the FY or HY. Woo-hoo!

It's nice that I made it all the way to the final rounds, but talk about stumbling at the final hurdle.

I'd say that Jas needs to do more than $18M, on a side note. Even if Philomena and 12 years a slave won't make much money in the next 7 days, it should still do 1.5 or 2 million dollars, so Jas needs $20 million out of American Hustle. I still think Jas should pass ahead of me, but just barely.

18 or 20, it will pas that by Friday. It's already got 6.5 in the books from monday and tuesday, and will get a Christmas bump today. In the end, you're toast.

It seemed weird to me because I remember a few weeks ago I noticed that American Hustle would need to make at least $45 million before the end of the month for Jas to step ahead of me. And today while the film only made $20, it seems I'm all done.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but since Jas and I share the exact same slate except he's got American Hustle and I've got the combo of 12 years a slave + Philomena, he needs Hustle to make more than my combo to get 1st place, right ? I know I suck at math but this seems right to me. And as of sunday night, my combo of 12 years a slave and Philomena made just north of $50M. And American Hustle made just north of $20M. So in my book, Jas needs Hustle to make at least $30M during the last seven days of release, and not just $18M.

I'm not in the league, so I can't double check, but what you are saying does seem to make sense. Even still, early reports are saying 7.5 for Hustle on Christmas, which would put it at 14 by the end of the day Wednesday. Even if it needs 30 by Sunday's end, it should get there.

I know it will probably get there. But I think in the end, it's gonna be a question of 24 hours of BO receipts.

From Her's numbers, it looks like it will at least earn a few more PTA this weekend.

So it looks like, unless something radical happens, the four tournaments will each have a different winner. I find that pretty darn cool.

I've plugged BOM's Wednesday numbers (some of which are exact, others are just estimates) into the standings, and here is how the BO tournaments look with four days to go.

BO Full-Year

1. Chien, $868,971,974
3. Jas, $851,581,680

This should be accurate. NOW Hustle needs to outgross Slave/Philomena by $17M.

BO Half-Year

1. Shonenbat, $856,731,893
T2. Chien/Walleye, $851,581,680

I'll set up the runoff league at the same time I do the January leagues. Start your pre-overtime calisthenics, guys.

Ult Full-Year

I can't see the standings changing over the final week. As I said before, I think Shonenbat has this.

Ult Half-Year

At this point, I have Empire with only a half-point lead over Shonenbat/SuperShaan. Breaking it down by category: Shon/Shaan have identical slates, and they are in first place in Rating, so they can't gain there. Whether American Hustle gets one more T5 point or three won't matter. The only way they could gain a point is in Box Office, and that will likely happen because in order to pass Ron B, Hustle needs to outgross 47 Ronin by only $5M in the next four days. However, Empire only needs for Her to beat The Past by one PTA point in order to tie Shon/Shaan in PTA and get that one point back, and beating The Past by two would have Empire pass them altogether in that category. Damn, this is close!!

Jas will probably pass me by around saturday afternoon. Damn it.

Now I better win this one because I don't want to be this close to winning both FY and HY and ending up on the floor with nothing. Oh no. I will win this !

I was just (correctly) informed by kblane that he is actually tied with Shonenbat and SuperShaan in the Ult HY. I don't know how I missed it, but I thought that he had a different lineup than those two, when in fact, all three slates are identical. So it's now Empire vs. three players.

Damn! Now, if I lose I don't even medal. It's all or nothing! I choose all, of course.
Well, if I lose I guess I'll just have to blame it on Her. Which really isn't any different than usual. I've been blaming "her" for my shortcomings for years.
